This blog was established, not only to update friends on our progress in business, but also as an outlet for opinions, creative thoughts and just to share about our experiences in life. The fun and the not so fun. Sometimes we will expound on an original thought, and other times we'll just be passing on information from an other source.

I have always rejected Al Gore's theory that it's somehow my fault that the weather seems to change from time to time. Some respected scientists also reject the idea. The following is from a letter from WC Douglas at thedouglassreport.com

See what you think!

Global warming distracting from dangers of looming ice age?

Dear Friend,

I'm not a fan of President Obama's new stimulus plan that's intended to kick-start our flagging economy. Too many billions have been earmarked for projects that will likely stimulate little more than more useless government programs.

Case in point: the $400 million that's been set aside just to study global warming (who's that stimulating?). The stimulus bill also calls for doubling the production of renewable energy, "improving energy efficiency" for 2 million homes and 75 percent of government buildings (whatever that means) and upping the number of those silly, underpowered plug-in hybrid cars (which, by the way, are made in not-so-earth-friendly factories).

Here's the kicker: there's a new study out of Russia that claims that the real weather problem may not be warming, but global cooling. According to the report, "The earth is now on the brink of entering another ice age, according to a large and compelling body of evidence from within the field of climate science."

Now, I'm not the biggest fan of Pravda or the Russians. But I think they've hit the nail on the head with this one. After all, it's not just Pravda saying this. Even though Al Gore and his moronic minions won't acknowlege it, there are plenty of scientists who are of the opionion that manmade global warming is a load of utter hooey.

The Pravda report says that Gore, and other global warming fanatics like NASA physicist James Hansen and NASA climatologist Gavin Schmidt, are actually drawing attention away from the dangers of the approaching ice age with all their nonsensical global warming nonsense.

I've told you many times that I count myself among those who don't think there's anything at all to the panic of global warming. Frankly, I think it's a racket. And I find it hilarious that on more than one occasion, global warming conferences have been delayed by ice and blizzards. The most recent was an Al Gore led summit in Washington, D.C. this past January. You'd think these guys would learn to schedule these events in July to avoid such bad PR.

The Pravda report goes on to point out that Gore's entire theory is based upon the now- famous "hockey stick graph" used in his laughably inaccurate 2006 documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." This graph indicates a sharp rise in global temperatures (in the shape of a hockey stick) beginning in the 1970s. The problem is this "trend" has been upset by the brutal winter of 2007/2008, which according to the report, saw the Northern Hemisphere blanketed with the deepest snow since 1966 — and the coldest temperatures. And this winter isn't much better.

And yet, the global warming camp always seems to conveniently ignore these cold, hard inconvenient truths.
