From Seattle Times

"Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, the state's first and only hospital to require employees to get annual seasonal-flu shots or risk dismissal, is expected to announce soon if it will require workers to get vaccinated against swine flu as well."

How do you feel about that?

Washington politicians tell me that there is no pending legislation that would require forced vaccination. Well, first of all, I'm not sure I believe that. Government has, many times, slipped legislation through under our noses, but behind our backs. Secondly, what about the work place?

Does an employer have the right to require you to take a shot that has not been proven effective? Or even safe? I would like to say, "Certainly not!", but I'm not a lawyer.

I will say, though, that we do not have to do business with organizations that make this kind of demands on their employees! There are several hospitals in the area. Call around...find one that treats their people fairly. If they don't get it right, they go out of business. The other hospitals get all the patients, and the nurses and other employees who lost their jobs can go over there to work.

I've been told that this is going on in Skagit Valley Hospital, as well, and there are probably others. Look...if you want a flu shot, get one, at your own risk. If you want a swine flu shot, get one. But those who don't want to take the risk should not have to!

One of my mentors once said, "Anyone who won't stand for something will fall for anything ."

Take a stand.

There aren't many out there who are really interested in preserving our freedom. I feel really weird saying that! Doesn't everyone want to be free? We're losing it, folks. Little by little, we're losing our freedom.

Take a stand.

It's up to us.
